Irene Hardy is the Director of the Professional Development for Teachers Program (AME for its acronym in Spanish) since 2003. AME uses online courses and educational television series on contents like reading and writing, mathematics, environmental education, health education, scholar communication and organization, peace education and conflict resolution, ethics in the school, human capital and overcoming poverty and education on HIV/AIDS, to support national professional programs for teachers in 14 Latin American countries. Three courses are in preparation for next year dealing with appropriation of ICT in the school, Think Art, and school management. AME develops multi-stakeholder’s partnerships with private enterprises, universities, regional and national educational authorities, schools and teachers and entrepreneurs to reach a greater audience. Since 2003, 904 schools and 11.264 teachers in 14 Latin American countries have been reached.
